Wanted: volunteers for Rotherham's Strongest Man competition

ROTHERHAM’S Strongest Man competition is looking for three men to complete the line-up for this year’s event.

Organisers have a space in each of the Novice, Under-105kg and Open categories for the attraction at Rotherham Show in Clifton Park on September 3.

South Yorkshire’s current Strongest Man, Sam Ashton, will be among those competing for the top title.

He has been in Strongman only since December, winning his first three competitions and then finishing sixth at the SCL Champions League qualifier.

Rotherham’s Strongest Man is being run by Keith Barraclough and Mark Anglesea of Man Beast Strongman Promotions.

Keith runs a group three days a week at Phoenix Gym in Brinsworth to support up and coming Strongmen.
