Scott heartened by performance

MANAGER Andy Scott saluted a much improved performance as the Millers fought out a draw at Accrington Stanley last night.

A controversial late free-kick from Sean Hessey scuppered hopes of a win after skipper Ryan Cresswell had opened the scoring just before half time, the match ending 1-1.

Critical of his players after Saturday's victory over Dagenham, Scott was much happier this time as they collected a point which keeps them joint top of League Two.

He said: "I thought it was a really good game and I was delighted with the lads. Accrington had a ten or 15-minute spell in the second half when they put us under a bit of pressure but we created a lot of chances.

"I've told them that if we keep playing like that and creating chances then we'll be alright."

Next up is a long trip to Torquay United on Saturday.
