No link between Ronnie and Millers

ROTHERHAM United say Ronnie Moore will not be making a return to the club.

There has been speculation overnight linking the 63-year-old club legend with the Millers after he resigned as manager of National League club Eastleigh for "personal reasons." One bookmaker even stopped taking bets on Rotherham's vacant managerial post.

When asked by the Advertiser this morning whether there was anything to be read into the developments, Millers chairman Tony Stewart replied "none whatsoever."

A promotion winner with Rotherham as a player and then as a manager, Ronnie worked under Mr Stewart in his second spell in charge from 2009-11.

The Millers supremo said that the board would be sitting down and taking a detailed look at the applications after the weekend.

Kenny Jackett resigned on Sunday after just 39 days in charge and fitness coach Paul Warne will take charge of the team at Burton Albion on Saturday.
