Millers' manager search extended

ROTHERHAM United's search for a new manager is set to stretch into a third week as the club continues to interview candidates.

A spate of quality applicants means the interview process will continue into this week and with some members of the board on holiday, a decision is not expected until after Easter.

Crawley Town's Steve Evans and Southend United's Paul Sturrock are the latest names to be linked with the post in the wake of Andy Scott's sacking a fortnight ago.

Caretaker manager Darren Patterson, meanwhile, led the side to a second win in three games on Saturday.

A 43rd minute header from Lewis Grabban sealed a deserved 1-0 victory over rock bottom Hereford United at Don Valley Stadium.

"We didn't look like conceding," said Patterson. "I think we bossed it from start to finish. It was a professional performance."

The Millers resume their League Two campaign with two Easter games, away to AFC Wimbledon on Friday and home to Cheltenham on Monday.
