Millers hit County for six

ROTHERHAM United slammed Notts County 6-0 to pump up their League One promotion push and set a new record.

A brace from Haris Vuckic and further strikes from James Tavernier, Alex Revell, Kieran Agard and substitute Tom Hitchcock capped the Millers’ biggest victory so far at the New York Stadium.

Four of the goals came in the first half-hour.

James Tavernier curled in a free-kick to open the scoring on 16 minutes and then played in Haris Vuckic to shoot in on the turn with the aid of a deflection.

Alex Revell made it three with a great strike, seizing upon a loose ball 25 yards out and lashing in first time past goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski.

Three minutes later, the points were as good as sealed when Kieran Agard won, and converted, a penalty to make it 4-0.

The Millers continued to have the upper hand in the second half, with Vuckic racing clear to score the fifth and sub Nicky Adams crossing for Hitchcock to make it six.
