Millers held by Tranmere

ROTHERHAM United had to settle for a draw against Tranmere Rovers at the New York Stadium after being pegged back by a late equaliser.

Leading 1-0 through Kieran Agard’s strike just before the hour mark, a penalty from Ryan Lowe six minutes from time earned Ronnie Moore’s strugglers a point.

Showing five changes from the side which lost at MK Dons on Saturday, the Millers were unable to make the most of all their pressure.

Ben Pringle, Rob Milsom and Daniel Nardiello all went close in the first half and Tom Eaves had a header cleared off the line before Agard spun in the area to break the deadlock.

But when Joe Skarz tripped substitute Abdulai Bell-Baggie, Rowe sent Adam Collin the wrong way from the spot.
