Millers defender set for loan move

ROTHERHAM United defender Troy Brown is set to join fellow League Two outfit Aldershot Town on loan until the end of the season.

The Wales U21 international has made only six appearances since signing from Ipswich Town last summer, the last as a substitute at Macclesfield Town on Boxing Day.

Millers chief Andy Scott told the Advertiser: "Troy hasn't really settled up here and it was important that if he went anywhere it was back down south.

"It's a good move for him and us because he can get games and get back into it again."

With the January transfer window now open, Scott is working to retain the services of on-loan pair Sam Wood and Jon Harley.

If left-back Harley can agree a severance package with his parent club Notts County, Rotherham will look to take him on a free transfer. If not then Scott will try to extend his loan.

Brentord are prepared to let Wood go so the Millers will be looking to tie up a permanent deal with him.

Scott says he has other people lined up should one or both of those deals fall through.

The Millers don't have a game this weekend.
