Master class scores with youngsters

ROTHERHAM United Community Sports Trust delivered a Master Class training session to remember with the help of two special guests.

The training sessions, which are successfully delivered to local youngsters every half-term by the Trust's skilled coaches, have been a huge hit over the Christmas holidays.

However, the Trust took a back seat to allow first team manager Andy Scott and assistant manager Darren Patterson to step in for a special Christmas treat for local youngsters aged 5-14.

Community participation officer James Cole said: "The youngsters really enjoyed visiting Roundwood and watched a really intense session. First team players chatted to the youngsters, whilst Andy Scott and Darren Patterson gave them a real insight as to what it is like to experience a professional training session."

Participation Ambassador and Millers 'keeper Andy Warrington added: "It was nice to see the youngsters at the training ground and I hope they can see how hard we train and can come down to some games in 2012."

The Trust ran the Millers Master Class football camp at Aurora, Brinsworth and there were the usual free gifts, skills sessions and prizes to win provided by the club.

The next Master Class will be held during February half-term at Dearne Valley College, Wickersley School and Aurora, Brinsworth.
