Look 'hose' backing the Millers

FOOTIE-mad firefighters added an extra dash of red and white to their engines as they backed the Millers’ Wembley promotion push.

The crew at Rotherham station took advantage of a quiet moment in their shift on Wednesday to decorate the vehicles.

Firefighter and long-standing fan Richard Beecher, of Green Watch, suggested the idea to his watch manager ahead of the showdown with Dagenham and Redbridge.

He said: “We got the go-ahead and went down to the club shop at Bardot Hall to purchase the scarves and flags.

“I thought it would be great to get the message out that we’re behind the club.

“We were all in uniform at the shop and bumped into the chairman, Tony Stewart, who agreed to come back to the station with us to see what we were doing.

Richard added: “I’ve been a Rotherham fan for more than 35 years now.

“There’s quite a few of us here at the station who will be travelling down for the match at the weekend.”
