PAUL Warne watched his Rotherham United side move up to second place in League One and then declared: "I think we can get better."

The impressive Millers deservedly beat Blackpool 2-1 at AESSEAL New York Stadium to make it a 10-point haul from their four festive fixtures.

Michael Smith scored with a first-half header and Blackpool equalised through Armand Gnanduillet before Dan Barlaser's superb 85th-minute free-kick settled the contest in Rotherham's favour,

Manager Warne, fresh from his side's 4-0 demolition of Peterborough three days earlier, said: "I thought we played really well and it was nice to back up a performance from our last home game.

"New York was an optimistic and positive place. We leave the stadium in second spot and I still think we can get better.

"I thought we deserved to go into the lead. We were the better side first half.

"I wasn't content with a draw. I wanted the win and made attacking substitutions. I thought a goal would come. We are good when we shoot towards the kop and I just thought sooner or later something would drop."

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson said the Millers had "run over" his side.

He added: "We were in a battle and asked questions of them but we have a lack of quality in certain areas of the pitch."
