East Herringthorpe Cemetery celebrates winning an 'Oscar' of the funeral profession
The cemetery, alongside Rotherham Crematorium, is celebrating double success after being recognised with the title along with another national award.
The “dedication, professionalism and passion” of the team at East Herringthorpe Cemetery has been recognised on the national stage after they won the industry equivalent of an 'Oscar'.
The team at East Herringthorpe Cemetery, part of Rotherham Crematorium at The Crematorium and Memorial Group, celebrated being named Cemetery of the Year at the Good Funeral Awards 2026.

The latest accolade follows the organisation securing the BRAMM (British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons) Cemetery of the Year Award earlier this year which evaluate burial grounds across Britain based on facilities and care for the bereaved.
The double award success recognises the exceptional standards maintained across the cemetery, from the quality of the grounds and facilities to the compassionate support provided to bereaved families throughout the year.
Kim Phillips, business leader for Rotherham Crematorium and Cemeteries said: "The awards are a testament to the dedication, professionalism and passion of the entire Rotherham team, whose work supports families every day while ensuring the cemetery remains a well-maintained and valued space for remembrance within the local community.
“We are incredibly proud to have received both the Good Funeral Award for Cemetery of the Year and the BRAMM Cemetery of the Year Award in the same year.
“These awards reflect the hard work and commitment of our entire team, who strive every day to provide the highest standards of care, support and service to the families and communities we serve.
“It is wonderful to see their efforts recognised on a national stage.
“East Herringthorpe Cemetery continues to invest in its grounds, facilities and services, ensuring it remains a place where families can remember and honour loved ones in a dignified and meaningful setting.”
