Woman who left significant amounts of waste at own home fined over £1,000
A woman from Rotherham has been fined over £1000 after ignoring a council notice to remove significant amounts of waste from her property.

Vlasta Gaziova, of Copley Place, Masbrough, was fined at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court for breaching a Community Protection Notice issued by Rotherham Council.
Cllr Sarah Allen, Cabinet Member for Communities at Rotherham Council said: “Community Protection Notices are used to tackle issues that have a detrimental impact on the quality of life of those living nearby.
“Residents are given the opportunity to put matters right before enforcement action is considered.
“In this case, despite repeated opportunities, the waste was not removed and the Council had no option but to pursue legal action.”
Concerns were first raised about the waste in Ms Gazoiva’s garden in May this year.
The rubbish included furniture, household waste, appliances and bags of rubbish.
In total, Ms Gazovia was charged £1,131.43 for the offence, including prosecution costs and a victim surcharge.
In August, it was revealed that Rotherham Council had spent over £175,000 on fly-tipping costs since 2024, with £96,575.35 of that spent in 2025/26.
Cllr Allen said: “We are committed to keeping our neighbourhoods clean and safe, and we will continue to take action where individuals fail to meet their responsibilities.”
