Let's go again, says Evans

MANAGER Steve Evans intends making sure Rotherham United are fit and ready to launch back into league combat at Notts County tomorrow.

The players who started Wednesday night's Capital One Cup defeat to Aston Villa had a day's rest yesterday in readiness for the game at Meadow Lane.

The League One clash gives the Millers an immediate chance to get back on the winning trail having had their ten-game unbeaten run ended by the 3-0 defeat.

Now Evans, who saw his side cause one or two worrying moments before succumbing to Villa's finishing power, wants to concentrate minds back on the task of collecting league points.

He told Advertiser: "I was a very proud man on Wednesday night. We played some super football in the first half and a couple of errors cost us.

"It's been a long time since we got beat but it's how you react and I have no doubt that if we play at Notts like we did in that first half, we will do well.

"We're still unbeaten in league games in nine matches and we want to extend that run."

Evans welcomes back Daniel Nardiello from a one-match suspension imposed for his red card in last Saturday's draw with Shrewsbury.
