Keep it going, says Evans

MANAGER Steve Evans is demanding that Rotherham United carry their good form into Christmas, starting at Bristol Rovers tomorrow.

Four wins from the last six games have put them back on the fringe of the automatic promotion frame in League Two and into the third round of the FA Cup thanks to Tuesday's impressive 3-0 win at League One Notts County.

The Millers chase a third straight win and a fifth on the spin away from home at struggling Rovers tomorrow, with promotion rivals Port Vale to follow on Boxing Day in front of what could be a sell-out crowd at the New York Stadium.

Now Evans wants his side to keep the momentum going by not letting their standards slip during a busy festive run of four games in ten days.

He said: "It's about continuing the results and performances we've been having in general of late. Tuesday's was up there with the best of them and it's the type we are capable of on a regular basis and even bettering.

"I expected one or two of our players to be tired the next day but they all came in bouncing and we will go down to Bristol nice and fresh and prepare properly."

Last night there were only 900 tickets left for the Vale game and the visitors had sold out a large proportion of their allocation of 2,300.
