Fighter pledges no more mistakes

SUPER-featherweight Lee Appleyard is looking to finish 2014 off in style with another victory, when he takes on Youssef Al Hamidi at Ice Sheffield tonight.

Appleyard, currently 2-0 as a professional, returns to the venue where all his fights so far have taken place and the Dave Coldwell promoted prospect is looking to perform better than he did last time out against Jamie Quinn.

The 26-year-old came through four tough rounds to win a tight points decision, 39-38, but he wasn't happy with some aspects of his last performance, admitting he made far too many errors.

Lee said: ""I made too many mistakes in my last fight and I was lucky that I got the win. I can learn from my mistakes but I know I got the win, rather than having a loss on my record and having to almost start from scratch."
