Blackett, Whitehead back at Lane

TITANS have brought Lee Blackett back to Clifton Lane—and have confirmed that former star half-back Mike Whitehead is also rejoining the club.

Blackett, a product of the Rotherham academy who went on to skipper the side at just 23, switched to Leeds Carnegie in 2006 where he became a regular first-teamer.

But after he was released by the Headingley club, Titans moved quickly to bring him back to South Yorkshire.

Bester has also brought Whitehead back to the Lane after being released by Doncaster. It will mainly be in a coaching role.

Said Bester: “We have assembled a powerful squad but we do need some experience—and Lee and Mike bring just that.”
