MP John Healey to vote against Brexit deal

WENTWORTH and Dearne MP John Healey has said he plans to vote against the Brexit deal proposed by Prime Minister Theresa May.

His South Yorkshire Labour colleague Sir Kevin Barron came under fire after declaring his intention to back the deal when MPs have their say this evening.

But Mr Healey plans to follow party leader Jeremy Corbyn's pledge to oppose the proposal on offer.

He said: "I will be voting against tonight, as the Government have not got a good enough Brexit deal for Britain.”

Rotherham MP Sarah Champion has yet to make her intentions known.
