Four arrested after man (29) dies in Warmsworth "hit and run"

FOUR people have been arrested after a man died in a suspected hit and run smash in Warmsworth.

The 29-year-old was found seriously hurt in the street at High Road at 11.50pm on Friday and died at the scene. He has not yet been formally named.

Police said they believed the man’s injuries were caused by a collision with a car, which was not at the scene when officers arrived.

Two men from Doncaster, aged 29 and 23, were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Another man (47) from Doncaster and a 21-year-old woman from Denaby Main was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

All four people have been released under investigation.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened in the incident, which happened between the junction of Tenter Road and the Holiday Inn.
