ROTHERHAM’s Rhinoceros pub will go up for auction next week.

The Rhino, which was put up for sale by Wetherspoons in 2019 and is currently independently-run, will go under the hammer on Tuesday with a £450,000 guide price.

The pub on Bridgegate is also being extended into the neighbouring property – which will double its size.

It was named after the Rhinoceros Vase, which was made in 1826 at the nearby Rockingham Pottery Works ‑ at the time of its production, the 1.15-metre high vase was the largest piece of porcelain to have been fired in one piece anywhere in the world.

Bidding on the Rhinoceros will open on Tuesday and close the following day. Visit www.pugh-auctions.com for more details.
