M1 lane to close for repairs

The stretch from M1 junction 34 (Tinsley) to junction 35a (Stocksbridge) will be affected until next Monday as drainage and barrier work is carried out.

One lane in both directions will be closed with hard shoulder running and there will be narrower lanes and a 50 mph speed limit in place over 24 hours.

Various overnight lane closures will also be in place, the Highways Agency said.

The northbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight at junction 35 tonight and the southbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight at junction 35 tomorrow night.

The northbound carriageway will also be closed overnight on Tuesday at Tinsley Viaduct, with a diversion via the A631 viaduct lower deck.

Overnight closures take place between 8pm and 6am, and signed diversions will be in place.
