Teenage burglar caught in the act

A 16-year-old boy has been sentenced for burglary after he was caught red-handed by police officers.

The incident happened last month when police were called to a house on Linden Grove, Edlington. Neighbours alerted the police after they saw a teenage boy in the bedroom of the property when the owners were away on holiday.

As police attended, they saw the boy climbing out of a broken window around the back of the house. He ran from the officers but was arrested a short distance away.
