MP raises lighting concerns in Dinnington Park
MP wants to ensure residents are not deterred from using park
A move to improve lighting in Dinnington Park has been made by MP Jake Richards, in response to concerns raised by people who walk through at night.

Mr Richards, Rother Valley MP, said the park straddled the boundary of Dinnington and North Anston, meaning it was used as a thoroughfare between housing estates “and essential amenities such as supermarkets, pharmacies and banking hub”.
He has now approached Rotherham Council to say: “It’s been brought to my attention that the park is not well lit, and that brings great concern to people as they walk through the park at night.
“I do not accept that these people should just find an alternative route when it is dark, when as local leaders we should seek to improve safety.
“I am keen to explore the possibility of improving safety in Dinnington Park to bring some much-needed comfort to those residents who use it.
“The park is a community asset, and I want to see as many people using and enjoying the space as possible,” he said.
