Macmillan use annual coffee mornings to boost funds
A Dearne Valley village will host a Macmillan charity coffee morning later this month - aimed at bringing different elements of the community together in addition to fund raising.
Great Houghton Methodist Church will host the event, which has been organised in conjunction with a residents group.
They have also extended an open invitation for MPs, councillors, community representatives and campaigners to turn up to support the fund-raiser, which takes place on Tuesday September 29, at 11am.
Phil Gregg, secretary of Great Houghton Voluntary Residents Group, said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside Great Hougton Methodist Chapel to organise this event.
“Macmillan does such important work supporting people and families affected by cancer, and we wanted to do something positive as a community to help raise funds for this vital cause.
“We’re particularly grateful to the local businesses and residents who have already offered their support, and we hope the whole community will come along,” he said.
