£20K Lottery funding supports forum's work with unpaid carers
A NATIONAL Lottery £20,000 boost has been welcomed by a Rotherham group which says the money will support its vital work.
Rotherham Carers Forum has received the cash from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The funding will enable the Forum to develop and deliver its monthly wellbeing and social support sessions for unpaid carers.
Through the National Lottery funding, Rotherham Carers Forum will create a welcoming and inclusive space where carers can take time for themselves, build friendships, improve their wellbeing, and have their voices heard.
Angela Jameel, chair of Rotherham Carers Forum, said: “We are incredibly grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund and to National Lottery players for making this funding possible.
“This £20,000 grant will allow us to expand the support we offer unpaid carers, helping to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for carers to come together as a community.
“At Rotherham Carers Forum, our approach is to ‘Promote, Prevent and Respond’. We promote carers’ health, wellbeing and resilience, help prevent challenges from becoming crises wherever possible, and respond when carers need us most.
“By investing in unpaid carers, we are helping them maintain their own wellbeing while giving them the strength, confidence and support they need to provide the very best care for the people they love.
“Every unpaid carer deserves the opportunity to look after their own health and wellbeing.
“This funding is an investment not only in unpaid carers, but in the families, friends and communities whose lives they touch every day.”
