A NON-PROFIT organisation which creates art projects and events with communities has secured extended funding to continue its work until March 2026.

FLUX Rotherham has secured the funding, of an undisclosed amount, from Arts Council England as one of the 38 'Creative People and Places' projects covering local authority areas where involvement with creativity and culture is significantly below the national average.

In 2023, FLUX Rotherham and its partners engaged more than 28,000 people through various events, while 11,400 individuals participated in a range of creative and cultural activities.

The organisation was involved in popular events including Museum of the Moon at Rotherham Minster, NHS wellbeing group Threads That Connect Us, and the WOW Rotherham Festival in the town centre.

A WOW attendee told FLUX: “I really enjoyed seeing the diversity of families, children and people.

“It felt like a real connection of women from different communities , and I think it feels unusual to see this in my local area.”

FLUX Rotherham programme director Helen Jones said: “The extended funding will enable us to further engage with communities across Rotherham, who will continue to influence and shape the FLUX Rotherham programme through 2025 and 2026.

“Arts and cultural activity has a profoundly positive impact on the people and places we work with.

"Rotherham is full of brilliant, imaginative people who share their passion for this place and their ideas for its future.”

She added: “Together, we can make extraordinary things happen, bring additional funding to the area, and inspire more people to create, experience, and participate in exceptional arts events and activities.”
