Health trust showcases work of Rotherham volunteers

A HEALTH trust is going on the road to showcase the valuable contribution volunteers make to its services.

Staff and volunteers from Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) will take the Health Bus to Parkgate Shopping on June 6, to celebrate volunteering and raise awareness of the wide variety of opportunities it has available to people of all ages and experience.

RDaSH head of nursing Chris Prewett said: “Every day our volunteers unselfishly give up their own free time in a wide variety of ways — providing peer support, gardening, taxiing patients, serving refreshments, and working in hospital reception areas, the list goes on and on.

Volunteers' Week gives us the opportunity to celebrate all that they do, so we're going out and about to do just that.

“We hope people will pop onto the bus for a cuppa and a chat, and who knows we might just get some new recruits.”

The Health Bus will be parked outside River Island, between 10am and 2pm.
