Four taken to hospital after accidental kitchen fire

FOUR people were taken to hospital after an accidental kitchen fire over the weekend.

Firefighters rescued two people and spent nearly two hours tackling the blaze on Norfolk Road in Great Houghton at 3am on Saturday.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “Firefighters rescued two people from the property and a total of four people went to hospital.

“The crews came away at 4.50am.”

Earlier on Saturday, Dearne firefighters were called out to an accidental car fire at 12.30pm on Howdike Lane, Hooton Roberts.

The crew left the scene at 1.05pm.

Three fire crews from Aston, Birley and Maltby stations were also called out to an accidental fire involving conifers at 7.10pm on Manor Road, Wales last night (Sunday), coming away at 9.30pm.
