Appeal to trace Seat vehicle involved in hit and run

POLICE investigating a hit and run at Warmsworth have appealed for the public’s help.

A 69-year-old cyclist was knocked off his bike — and suffered a broken leg — on Sheffield Road at 4pm on January 21.

The car involved left the scene without stopping.

Police believe it was a black Seat because of a wing mirror found at the scene.

A spokesperson said: “We are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about a black Seat requiring a new wing mirror to contact us.

“The collision would have also likely left the vehicle with noticeable damage to its passenger side.

“If you can help, please contact us on 101 quoting incident number 637 of January 21.”
