Corn Law Rhymer pub up for sale

A TOWN centre pub could be sold after its owners put it on the market.

The Corn Law Rhymer, High Street, has been made available by pub chain Wetherspoon as part of its plans to sell a number of sites across the country.

Eddie Gershon, spokesman for Wetherspoon, said the pub would remain open until a buyer was found.

He also said once it closed, staff at the pub would also be offered new jobs with the company.

Mr Gershon said: “We understand that our customers will be disappointed that The Corn Law Rhymer is on the market.

“Wetherspoon has put a selection of pubs on the market and this includes one in Rotherham.

“The pub will continue to remain open and trading as a Wetherspoon until a buyer is found.

“When a buyer is found all staff at the pub will be offered other jobs within the company or might decide to remain with the new owners.”
