Christmas gift for premature babies

SICK and premature babies will have a special first Christmas thanks one IT company.

Staff at Rotherham-based firm DuoCall have stuffed stockings with gifts for children at the neonatal intensive care unit on Jessop Wing, Sheffield.

The unit looks after newborns from around the region, including Rotherham. Each year the Sheffield Hospitals Charity arranges stockings for its tiny patients.

DuoCall director Phil Coley said it was “a pleasure” to support the life-saving unit’s work.

He added: “We are looking forward to working closely with the charity in 2015 and the DuoCall team will be getting much more involved in community projects.

“As a business which is rooted in the local community, we feel it’s only right that we support those who may be going through difficult times.”

Ruth Block, fundraising officer at Sheffield Hospitals Charity, said: “Parents whose children are receiving care in the neonatal unit have so much to think about.

“The stockings are a way that staff, the charity and corporate supporters like DuoCall can show they care.”
