New boss for health trust

A HEALTH trust has appointed a new chair with a “wealth of knowledge and expertise”, following a national recruitment campaign.

Kathryn Lavery, the current chair of Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, is joining Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.

She was first appointed to an NHS board in 1998 and since then has served as chair of West Hull Primary Care Trust and NHS Hull.

Kathryn has also been a Hull city councillor, and is chair of Humber Business Week Steering Group, a non-executive director of NAViGO, a community interest company which runs NHS mental health services, and a consultant to the University of Hull’s Faculty of Health Sciences.

She said: “I’m looking forward to meeting as many patients, carers and staff as possible during my first few months, and helping to shape the very best care for patients.”

She will take on the role on December 1 from interim chair Dave Vallance.
