Ex-Rotherham surgeon in botched ops probe
LAWYERS are probing "deeply worrying" number of complaints about botched hip operations by a former surgeon at Rotherham General Hospital.

Hide AdFive patients have already received pay-outs totalling £750,000 from the hospital pver complications they suffered after surgery by Mr Manjit Bhamra (55), who is now working as a consultant at a number of other hospitals.
But there have been a "significant number" of enquiries from other concerned patients recently, according to law firm Irwin Mitchell.
“The level of calls we have had is deeply worrying and raises serious concerns over patient safety, which should always be the top priority in the NHS," said a spokesman for the firm.

Hide Ad“We hope the hospital trust is looking into this as a matter of urgency.”
The Advertiser has also been contacted by a number of patients.
A spokesman for Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust said: “We’d like to stress that we do have a robust procedure in place so that we are able to fully investigate any complaints that are received.“We continue to advise contact directly with the GP or through the trust’s formal complaints procedure thereby allowing the appropriate respective investigations.”
