Crews extinguish 'deliberate' metal container fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called to two fire incidents overnight, including blazes in a bin and a metal container.

Crews from Dearne were called to Beech Road, Wath, at 8.14pm last night (February 20) after receiving a report that a brazier, commonly used for burning wood and coal, had been set alight at the side of the road. 

They said the fire, which is being treated as deliberate, had been put out by 8.33pm.

A unit from Doncaster were called to Gordon Road, Edlington, at 10.48pm after reports of a wheelie bin on fire.

Crews said this was a deliberate act. They left the scene at 11.14pm.
