Christmas fire incidents listed including a house fire and an unattended bonfire in South Yorkshire


FIREFIGHTERS contended with a host of fire incidents over the festive period including — a Christmas Day house fire.
They entered the building wearing breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire and ensure nobody was inside.

Hide AdA fire service spokesperson said no-one had still been inside and no injuries had been reported.
They were at the scene for almost three hours and SYFR said the cause was still under investigation.
Another Christmas Day incident involved fire crews attending a shed fire which was believed to have been caused by an unattended bonfire.
Firefighters from Aston Park station were called to Walesmoor Avenue, Kiveton Park, at 5.13pm.

Hide AdThe fire was dealt with by 6.18pm and SYFR said it was believed to be accidental.
Crews from Dearne and Rotherham stations were called to York Gardens, West Melton, on Boxing Day after reports of a kitchen fire.
It is believed the fire, which was reported at 12.49pm, was caused “accidentally through distraction”.
A spokesperson said the blaze had been confined to the cooker and no-one had been injured.
Christmas Eve fires included a deliberate car fire involving a VW Golf on Tennyson Road, Herringthorpe, at 2.35am and an arson attack on a Vauxhall van on Birdwell Road, Kilnhurst, at 7.16pm.
