Cause of industrial unit blaze in Parkgate “currently under investigation”

CREWS spent over two hours tackling a blaze at an industrial unit in Parkgate at the weekend.

Firefighters from Rotherham, Maltby and Elm Lane stations were called out to the unit on Taylors Court at 8.50pm on Sunday and came away at 11pm. 

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.”

Earlier that day Aston firefighters spent 20 minutes attending a deliberate car fire at 9.40am on the M1 between J31–J32 northbound. 

On Saturday morning, three crews from Maltby, Aston and Edlington stations tackled an accidental shed fire in Maltby. 

Crews dealt with the blaze on Duke Avenue at 9.30am and left the scene at 11.35am.
