Welcome return for family-focused Rother Valley running event

A CHARITY running event described as perfect for all ages and abilities makes a return next weekend after two years off.

Head Start, which involves a 10k race and a 5km fun run, celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2019, with 850 runners taking part and raising £38,000 for the charity Neurocare.

The pandemic resulted in the event being scrapped in 2020 and 2021 but it is back at Rother Valley Country Park on Sunday, May 22.

Organisers said the course was “very flat, so perfect for participants of all abilities”.

Clare Lambert, Neurocare fundraiser, said: “We are over the moon that the event has been able to return for this year.

“After so long, it will be amazing to see all of our loyal supporters making their way around the course.”

Neurocare is part of Sheffield Hospitals Charity and raises money to support patients and staff at the Neurosciences and Neurology departments at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, the Northern General Hospital and the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN).
