Picture this – a movie date at stately home
THE UK’s largest outdoor cinema, Adventure Cinema, returns this Summer with its most immersive season yet and is arriving at Wentworth Woodhouse in Rotherham on July 24 to 26.
The tour is popping up in 50+ locations nationwide from May, transforming iconic venues into laid-back summer nights.
Adventure Cinema was formed in 2019 and has gone on to become the biggest outdoor cinema company in the UK.
A spokesperson said: “Picture this – you’re wrapped in a light-blanket under the stars, drink in hand, snacks at the ready, sprawled on the grounds of a stunning estate while your favourite film’s on the big screen, either rom-com night with friends, a cute date night or a family outing.
“This is our most impressive season yet and will see Adventure Cinema visit 57 enchanting destinations across the UK with locations spanning castles, stately homes, gardens and cultural landmarks such as Chatsworth House, The Eden Project, and iconic Grade I listed country house Wentworth Woodhouse.
“Hundreds of years old and surrounded by thousands of acres of stunning park land, there's a reason film-makers are drawn to Wentworth – it has been the setting for Darkest Hour and Downton Abbey – and as a site for outdoor cinema, we couldn’t resist either.”
Films range from rom-coms to family favourites and include Pride and Prejudice, Bing And His Friends at The Cinema, Jurassic Park, Dirty Dancing, Sing, and Mamma Mia! ExtrABBAganza – featuring Mamma Mia! plus an ABBA Disco.
The Adventure Cinema spokesperson added: “Tickets are selling quickly for this venue – in particular, we are running low on Dirty Dancing, Sing, and Mamma Mia!
“Whether guests are packing a picnic with friends, planning the ultimate family night out, or heading to an open-air disco beneath the stars, Adventure Cinema’s destinations offer a full evening experience, with a variety of on-site food and drink options available.”
