Virgin ready to go again

VIRGIN Racing rev back into action after the summer break this weekend—and it's an extra special one for Jerome D'Ambrosio.

The Belgian Grand Prix is his home race, giving him an extra incentive as the Dinington-based team look to improve on his 21st place finish in Hungary last time out.

Said D'Ambrosio: "It’s been a long time since Belgium had a Formula One driver—exactly 18 years since Thierry Boutsen last raced in an F1 car—so it’s going to be a very special weekend both for me and the fans and I’m going to try to enjoy every moment.

“I have been looking forward to my first Formula One Belgian Grand Prix for a very long time, and now that the weekend has finally arrived I have to say that I am really excited and I can’t wait to race."

Team principal and director of racing John Booth is also banking on the Spa track bringing

the best out of his driver.

He said: "This is going to be Jérôme’s twelfth race in F1 but it’s a special weekend for him. I’m sure this will make him push even harder and it will be great to see all the Belgian fans supporting their driver at their home race

"After having a couple of weeks off over the factory shutdown period, we’ve all come back refreshed, ready and looking forward to the second part of the season."
