Titans look for a repeat

TITANS chief Justin Burnell will ask his players to front up for another physical battle at local rivals Doncaster Knights tomorrow.

Rotherham dug deep to stay with and then overcome a strong London Welsh side in their Championship opener at Clifton Lane last Sunday, pulling back a 14-point deficit late on to clinch it 33-32.

Doncaster suffered a first-day defeat at newly-relegated London Irish but last season's play-offs finalists will be equally strong opponents and Burnell knows his players will have to produce more of the same if they are to get a result.

“Doncaster are similar to London Welsh in many ways,” he told the Advertiser. “They're very physical, they're very direct and they have a couple of good individuals in crucial positions.

“When the fixtures came out, it was clear the first two were against two of the top teams in the Championship. We give every Championship team the same respect.”

Kick-off tomorrow is 2.30pm.
