Jordan tops Yorkshire charts

YOUNG Jordan Small has had an impressive start to the new season with a string of excellent performances.

The teenage hammer thrower qualified for the prestigious English National Schools Athletics finals at the Nottingham Spring open meeting with a personal best of 39.29m and he repeated the feat in a specialist event for Yorkshire’s top throwers in Hull.

The quantum leap forward in form has propelled Jordan to top place in the Yorkshire rankings and fifth in the national list for his event.

He is an exciting prospect for the new season and is looking forward to more competition in the Young Athletes league to improve his distances and maybe even aim for the top spot in the national list.
