ROTHERHAM United are on the brink of starting their summer recruitment drive.

Work has been going on behind the scenes but so far no signings have been announced by the Millers who are keen to strengthen their squad as they look to capitalise on last term's Championship survival success.

Pre-season training begins tomorrow and that is expected to signal the beginning of business.

Manager Matt Taylor plans to bring a number of new recruits to South Yorkshire and Rotherham have also offered terms to four out-of-contract players - attacker Chiedozie Ogbene, right-back Lee Peltier and centre-backs Sean Morrison and Tyler Blackett  - who were at AESSEAL New York Stadium last season.

Additionally, talks have also been held with central defender Grant Hall and winger Tariqe Fosu.

The pair were on loan with the Millers as safety was secured and have now reached the end of their deals with Middlesbrough and Brentford respectively.

A new coach could be at the Roundwood training complex to greet the players following the departure last month of Jonathan Hill.

Taylor identified the replacement he wanted several weeks ago and has been working towards a June 26 start date.

Goalkeeper Josh Vickers has moved to Derby County after rejecting Rotherham's offer to extend his New Year stay while Ogbene has a host of suitors and the likelihood is he will go elsewhere too.
