Letter: Poor start from councillors
Probably the most important duty of a councillor is to hold regular advice surgeries where their constituents can bring problems, lobby them or hold them to account.
Personally, given the importance of this service and from my own experience this should be sorted within two weeks of being elected.

Hide AdOn this day of a thousand pounds I’ve checked the RMBC website, walked round to Thrybergh Parish Hall and checked the local shops for notices.
Signs of councillors’ surgeries? Not a one.
A poor start from Cllrs Albiston, Reeder and Senior for Valley Ward, perhaps being so secure in their seats for four years means they don’t have to deign to visit their ward?
