THREE men have been cleared of sexually abusing schoolgirls in the early 2000s.
Yasir Iqbal Hussain (38), of Norborough Road, Tinsley, Azad Akram Raja (38), of Adney Street, Sheffield, and Faisel Hussain (34), of Lovetot Road, Kimberworth, were found not guilty by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court today following a trial lasting three weeks.
Raja was cleared of two counts of indecent assault against the first complainant between April 2001 and April 2004.
Yasir Hussain was cleared of two counts of indecent assault against the same girl, between April 2001 and April 2004.
Faisel Hussain was cleared of two counts of indecent assault against a second girl between January and June 2003.
All of the defendants were charged as part of the National Crime Agency’s Operation Stovewood, which is looking into child sexual exploitation in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013.
