The Rother Valley MP’s new role will see him assist in the day-to-day running of the parliamentary side of Mr Johnson’s office, assisting in the preparation for Prime Minister’s Questions, and attending regular meetings with key officials at Number 10.

Mr Stafford, who was promoted from a similar role at the Ministry of Defence, said: “Being asked to be the Prime Minister’s PPS is a great honour and allows me to promote Rother Valley at the very highest levels as well as to assist with the transition phase of the government.
