Rail timetable shake-up over three-day strike

TRAIN bosses are warning people to check up on travel times as a three-day strike takes place.

Northern Rail said amended timetables would be in place for the three days of RMT strike action today, Wednesday and Friday.

The train operator said it planned to run more than 50 per cent of its usual services on each of the three days.

Amended timetables have been published on the Northern website.

A spokesman said: “The majority of trains will run between 7am and 7pm and Northern expects all services to be extremely busy, especially in the morning and evening peak periods.

“Customers are advised to allow extra time to travel and to plan any journeys carefully.”

Details of the revised timetables, as well as other information about the impact of the RMT strike action, can be found on Northern's website at northernrailway.co.uk/strike.

The RMT are at loggerheads with Northern over plans to introduce driver-only trains.
