Proposals for Rhinos expansion approved after blaze

The proposals for Rhinos on Bridgegate were filed six months ago by Essex-based Cape Designs Ltd and approved by RMBC on July 20.

However the premises — and a vacant unit next door — were destroyed in a blaze on July 16, which the fire service said was accidental.

An RMBC report had welcomed the proposed ground floor expansion at the pub, which closed as a Wetherspoon in 2019.
