An application over the method of demolishing parts of the Millers’ spiritual home was listed on the authority’s planning portal on Thursday (May 21).

Among parts earmarked for the wrecking ball are the admin building, Tivoli club with accommodation over, press box, incomplete main stand, Tivoli Stand, terrace and uncovered stand and part of Millmoor Lane stand.

Millmoor was the home ground of Rotherham County between 1907 and 1925 and then its successor and then Rotherham United until the 2007-08 season.

The stadium has had no professional tenant since, but has been in use again for local youth football since 2016.
