Forces remembered

MILITARY personnel past and present will be recognised at a special flag-raising ceremony to mark Armed Forces Day.

A special Armed Forces Day flag is set to be raised over Rotherham Town Hall at 10.15am on Monday in recognition of the contribution of army, navy and air force employees from across the borough.

The public event will mark the start of Armed Forces Day celebrations around the country, when last year over 4,000 flags were flown in support of the military community, both serving and retired, at home and abroad.
