Christmas and New Year bus and rail changes

COMMUTERS face changes to public transport over the festive season.

South Yorkshire Transport Executive (SYPTE) has announced details of changes to bus and railway services. They are as follows:

Christmas Eve

Buses will operate a Saturday service with last departures between 5.30pm and 7pm.

Last departures on the railways will be between 7pm and 8pm.

Christmas Day

There will be no bus or rail services on December 25.

Boxing Day

There will be no bus or rail services on December 26, except the X1, which will operate a special timetable.

Bank Holiday Tuesday, December 27

There will be a Sunday service on buses and trains on Tuesday, December 27.

Wednesday, December 28

There will be a Sunday service on buses on Wednesday, December 28 and a weekday service on the railways.

Thursday, December 29 to Saturday, December 31

There will be a Saturday service on buses between December 29 and December 31.

The last departures of bus services on New Year’s Eve will be between 5.30pm and 7pm.

Trains will operate a weekday service until 8pm on New Year’s Eve.

Sunday, January 1

There will be no bus services on New Year’s Day.

Trains will operate a normal Sunday service with the cancellation of some early morning journeys.

Bank Holiday Monday, January 2

Buses will operate a normal Sunday service and trains will return to normal.

All bus and rail services will return to normal from Tuesday, January 3.
