Van taken off road for not having waste carrier licence
A VAN has been taken off the road after police found the vehicle had been involved a number of offences.
Officers had seized the van after undertaking speed checks on Aldwarke Lane, Dalton, yesterday morning when they found it did not have a waste carrier’s licence.
Registration for a waste carrier licence costs £154 according to the government’s website but registration is usually free if you only transport waste you produce yourself.
Police also said the vehicle’s tyres were found to be bald — a serious offence when the tread is below the legal limit — and they were “happy this dangerous vehicle is now off the road”.
